There are some situations in which women react differently to treatments and programs to address substance misuse. As a result, some treatments don’t work as well for women as men. That’s why we’ve created our women’s rehabilitation program, designed to treat women with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
Our program hones in on unity between women and helps them build connections. These connections provide vital support during the recovery period that they can rely on through each step of the process. Every woman will also have 24/7 support and various treatment options crafted to suit their needs. Our professional staff work with evidence-based treatment methods to ensure a successful recovery.
Like women, men have a unique experience with substance misuse, and treatment should be crafted to their needs. Our men’s rehabilitation program treats disorders at the source using an evidence-based approach for the best chance at an effective recovery. We help men reclaim control over their lives and treat their addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders to provide them with the tools they need to return to sober living.
We create a culture of support between our staff and patients within our program to build a network of individuals dedicated to recovery. We have multiple treatment and therapy options available, no matter what stage of the recovery process you’re in. Treatment will vary based on individual needs and experiences. Our support staff is available 24/7, so you always have someone available when you need them.
Gambling addiction is when someone is compulsively spending money on games, bets or wagers in hopes of seeing a greater payout. Many people are familiar with gamblers in casinos, but the gambling scene has evolved over the years, and with access to online platforms, you can gamble from anywhere in the world.
Gambling addictions are caused by several biological, genetic and environmental factors and have lasting effects on the person involved. At Gateway Foundation, we offer multiple treatment options for gambling addiction to help you restructure and gain control over your life. Our evidence-based approach gives you the best chance at a successful recovery. We provide you with a support network of our knowledgeable staff and teach you how to create a support network of your own in your personal life.
We also treat you for any existing mental health disorder during your treatment for gambling addiction. Often, these coincide, and some people even develop a gambling addiction to cope with their mental health symptoms. By addressing your mental health conditions and learning healthy coping mechanisms, you’re given the best chance to attain recovery.
In the United States, it’s illegal to drive a motor vehicle while under the influence. Doing so results in a DUI charge when pulled over by police, and DUI classes are usually required as part of the sentence.
Gateway Foundation offers DUI classes to help educate patients on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Our program usually includes short movies, guest speakers and brief exams that help patients understand why drinking or using substances and driving is so dangerous. Our DUI program also helps treat any existing substance use disorder that may have resulted in the DUI charge itself.
We used evidence-based therapies to inspire healthy behaviors and form healthy habits. Our goal is to help individuals recover from a substance use disorder and to allow them to start fresh.
When you’ve decided to take the leap and start treatment for a substance use disorder, you may experience intense physical, mental and emotional withdrawals, depending on your experience and the specific substance. People with severe withdrawal symptoms can be eligible for our medication-assisted treatment or MAT program. These medications help patients feel more comfortable and safe as they work toward recovery.
Medication can also be used to treat any physical or mental conditions that occurred due to substance misuse or that are contributing to the use in the first place. Regardless of why MAT is used, medication is prescribed only after a complete medical evaluation to ensure the patient is being treated appropriately and prevent developing a secondary addiction.
MAT is often used in tandem with other treatment methods at various stages in the recovery process. We offer 24/7 support from medical staff and constant supervision during the withdrawal process to help ensure your safety.
Our addiction therapy services include customized care suited to our patient’s individual needs. We focus on where you are in your recovery process and create a treatment plan to help you recover successfully. All of our treatment options are backed by science and proven effective.
When you work with us, we offer constant and consistent support you can rely on during your time with us. We also help you develop the skills to build a support network in your personal life so you always have someone to turn to and people to hold you accountable. We teach you healthy coping mechanisms and life habits to help break the substance misuse cycle. This includes treating any mental health conditions, as well.
We have multiple treatment options and therapies available to help you get to the root of your substance use disorder so you can reclaim your life and return to independent living. The right treatment for you will depend upon your circumstance and specific needs.
Some professional settings increase the likelihood of a substance use disorder developing. There may exist a culture where substance use is normalized or even encouraged. A job or career may be causing additional stressors that lead to using substances as a coping mechanism. Our program for busy professionals aims to address these professional situations and more to help you build healthy coping mechanisms and recover.
Family can be one of the most important parts of your recovery. They have likely seen the effects of your substance use disorder and want to help but feel powerless to do so. We offer family support and programming to help your family members understand how they can be valuable members of your support network. During the program, you’ll build bonds with your family members, learn healthy behaviors and find a place to voice your thoughts and feelings.
Family members can also help hold you accountable during your recovery and long afterward. Family therapy can help reduce negative behaviors and substance use. Multiple family treatment programs and therapies are available through our facility.
The LGBTQ+ community has unique experiences that contribute to a higher chance of developing a substance use disorder. As a result, we’ve created a specialized LGBTQ+ treatment program dedicated to making individuals feel safe and seen.
We’ve curated a unique treatment program that addresses mental health conditions and experiences that are specific to members of the LGBTQ+ community. We take care to make sure each patient feels safe in their environment and that our staff is supportive of their needs.
Addiction recovery treatment programs are rarely a one-size-fits-all situation. Individuals will need a personalized program tailored to their circumstances to get the most out of their treatment. There are many benefits to a customized program, such as:
Gateway Foundation offers personalized addiction treatment that provides you with all the benefits, levels of care and treatment options suited to your specific needs. We offer dual diagnosis treatment that helps treat co-occurring disorders that contribute to substance use.
We also offer 24/7 support while you’re in our care and teach you how to create a personal support network. Our treatment programs and therapies focus on teaching healthy coping mechanisms and habits so you can approach life with a newfound perspective.
We use evidence-based practices and programs to bring you quality and effective treatments proved to treat addiction. We address addictions at the root so the chances of relapse are significantly reduced. We even offer clinical services after your treatment with us officially ends, so you always have constant support. Find out more about our comprehensive clinical services and programs below.
At Gateway Foundation, our trauma therapy program acknowledges how trauma and substance use can go hand in hand. People who struggle with physical or psychological trauma, such as PTSD, often turn to substances to cope with the stress or triggers for their traumatic experiences. Victims of domestic violence or childhood abuse turn to substances for similar reasons.
Our trauma therapy program focuses on providing a safe and secure environment separate from triggering situations so you can focus on recovering from your addiction. While we treat your addiction, we also treat you for your trauma so you can start the healing process and develop healthy coping mechanisms to turn to rather than substances. Trauma therapy can be done simultaneously with other therapies or treatments, such as MAT.
Our dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) program evolved from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This program teaches you how to develop skills that help you manage emotions altering your behavior. The goal is to shift your thoughts to a positive mind space to inspire positive actions. This is done by working toward mindfulness, which focuses on remaining in the moment.
With a DBT program, you’ll learn to handle extreme emotions and physical pain. During these situations, you’ll be able to use healthy coping mechanisms you’ve learned to help you cope with these situations. You’ll also gain the skill to accept opposite ideas or perspectives to your own. DBT’s main goal is to encourage you to change what you can control and accept what you can’t.
Being mindful is the act of staying in the moment. You’re focusing on the present rather than the past mistakes or the worries about the future. Mindfulness-based sobriety starts with acceptance. You learn how to accept the moment or situation you’re currently in and make positive plans for the future. Mindfulness sobriety is ideal for patients who turn to substances in stressful situations since it reframes the way you approach these instances.
Our mindfulness-based sobriety program helps reduce stress and prevent relapse by providing tools to help you identify triggers. We teach you how to cope with these triggers as they appear in daily life. This treatment method is often used at the same time as other treatments, but it is possible to use it on its own.
When you finish treatment at rehabilitation center, you’ll often enter a 12-step curriculum focused on reducing the chance of relapse after treatment. Gateway Foundation encourages all patients to take part in 12-step meetings. We help make this process easier by offering 12-step facilitation. You’ll work with a counselor who provides you with education on effectively implementing the 12-step groups into your recovery.
You’ll also be supplied with support during your involvement in the 12-step program. The goal is to reduce the stress associated with participation in these programs and provide a place to discuss these meetings with a counselor one-on-one. You can voice any questions or concerns with your counselor about these programs and seek out any support, should you need it.
Our 12-step support program is a network of support groups that help you adjust back to independent life. You can discuss your experiences and struggles with addiction in a safe environment with people who have gone through similar experiences as you. The group exists so you can ask questions, air your concerns and receive advice. These meetings are conducted at the treatment center or within the specific community itself.
You can build relationships with the people in the support group, and since they understand what you’re going through, they can be an excellent addition to your support network. These individuals can hold you accountable for your sobriety and be there for you when you’re struggling.
Preventing a relapse from occurring reduces the likelihood of an addiction coming back once treatment has been completed. At Gateway Foundation, we help you identify potential triggers resulting in relapse and teach you skills to handle these situations. Whether you’re living in a stressful situation, experiencing a particular environment or handling various physical and mental factors, we provide you with the tools to stay sober and healthy.
The coping mechanisms we teach help you positively alter your perspective about your situations or events and find alternatives to substances in these situations, such as yoga, meditation or hiking. The focus is building healthy behaviors that you can turn to when life gets tough rather than relapsing into old behaviors.
Cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT alters the way you think to reframe negative thoughts in a positive light. Our CBT program changes your thinking pattern and teaches you coping mechanisms to help you face life challenges and stresses. We encourage using proactive solutions and problem-solving skills to negate negative feelings and turn them into something more positive.
You’ll learn how to manage stress without using substances with a combination of individual and group therapy. During these sessions, you’ll be asked to focus on the present and what’s affecting you in the current moment rather than concerns about the past or future. CBT is often used alongside other types of therapy for the best chance at a successful recovery.
Acceptance and commitment therapy is an effective treatment that focuses on accepting where you currently are and making goals for the future. Once you choose what direction you want to go in with your future goals, you commit to these goals and take action to change your behavior and feelings.
With this form of therapy, it’s all about accepting the substance use that occurred, where you currently are recovering and what you are feeling in the moment. This will help you stay in the moment and focus on committing to the future. Acceptance and commitment therapy is especially effective for those undergoing mindfulness-based sobriety treatment. The acceptance techniques help develop mindfulness that encourages recovery.
Motivational interviewing focuses on encouraging recovery among those who aren’t 100% dedicated to their treatment. They may have some hesitations or reasons they don’t want to recover, such as a desire to continue substance misuse, but motivation interviewing addresses these ideas and tries to reframe how these patients think.
This type of treatment gets very specific, requiring the patient to get as involved as possible in their own recovery. They’re asked to focus on their future goals and how substance use is currently negatively impacting their lives. They’ll be asked to look at their career, family, health and other factors and discuss how addiction treatment can make these parts of their life better.
Motivational interviewing helps reluctant patients find positive reasons to be sober. These reasons will be different for each person, and during the treatment process, you’ll discuss how you can implement these changes.
When some people turn to substances, it’s because they haven’t been taught healthy coping mechanisms to handle stressful situations or uncomfortable feelings. At Gateway Foundation, we offer coping skills therapy services to teach you new skills and behaviors that can help prevent a relapse. One way of doing this is by staying away from high-risk situations where substances may be present and use is encouraged.
Some other skills we teach are how to be patient in stressful situations and relaxation techniques you can use in situations that might be triggering. Building healthy habits is another skill we teach, such as eating a regular healthy diet and getting enough sleep. Coping skills therapy will also teach you how to be more honest with your support network so you can maintain accountability.
Group therapy brings individuals together who share similar experiences related to addiction and mental health conditions. Gateway Foundation doesn’t require sharing in group therapy, but it is encouraged to experience the full benefits. When you engage in group therapy, you’re building a bond between yourself and the other members. You can create a support network full of people who understand what you’re going through and who can help hold you accountable.
Group therapy is also an excellent place to share your thoughts, feelings and struggles and ask questions without having to worry about judgment. You’ll find a unique value in sharing your thoughts and feelings with people who can understand what you’re going through on a deeper level.
Individual therapy allows you to discuss similar concerns with a counselor one-on-one. You may feel more comfortable sharing more private information in this setting. You can also speak with a counselor about your concerns with group therapy. They can help you adjust to the new environment and encourage you to slowly open up to get the full breadth of benefits from connecting with people similar to you.
Recreational activities at Gateway Foundation are used for therapeutic purposes and to heal the body, mind and soul. These activities promote your physical well-being and promote a healthy mindset and outlook on life. We use these activities to show you that there are other ways to have fun and enjoy life without using substances while also providing you an outlet as you recover. Our goal is to inspire patients to become passionate about sober activities, such as yoga, art, music, hiking and nature walks.
Gateway Foundation offers virtual services for the convenience of our patients. We work with you to achieve your goals and offer the same level of service online as we do in person. We provide virtual outpatient care, treatment for co-occurring disorders and prescription medications available through online medical evaluations. We also have various webinar series available online to help educate people on addiction recovery and healthy habit formation.
Our virtual outpatient services work the same way our in-person outpatient services do, with the only difference being the online forum we use to connect with you. We offer convenient care that is flexible to your schedule. Virtual care is ideal for busy professionals or those who have difficulties leaving home.
During your treatment, we help you understand and address the underlying cause of the addiction. We teach you appropriate coping mechanisms and how you can build a healthy lifestyle. You can be a part of both virtual group and individual therapy, and even through a webcam, we will be with you every step of the way.
