After alcohol use surged over the last few years some people wonder what their life would be like without it. One of the motivations to consider is dry January, a month-long sobriety, health, and wellness challenge that is gaining in popularity. Gateway Foundation sees it first-hand, at its 16 drug and alcohol treatment centers in Illinois. Interim CEO Mark Turner supports the month-long sobriety challenge and thinks people should give a consideration on whether they need to change their relationship with alcohol. Addiction specialists here at the Gateway Foundation say if you’re considering participating in dry January, one thing is essential, you have to be honest with yourself about the experience.
