Danielle Slyder, LCPC, ATR
Mental Health Counselor
Over the past year, Danielle has developed and implemented the Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) program in Downers Grove through a DuPage County grant. Through her leadership LENS has thrived. Additionally, Danielle has served Gateway patients in Skokie, Gurnee, Aurora and Joliet and she continues to help to oversee the expansion of the LENS program across other sites.
Danielle received her Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialty in Art Therapy from Adler School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and an Art Therapist (ATR). She has a focus in trauma and attachment-based therapies but also utilizes therapies such as ACT, CBT and DBT. She currently provides clinical supervision, education and consultation to staff across a number of Gateway sites.
Danielle brings over 10 years of experience in the mental health field to her role here at Gateway.
In addition to direct service work, Danielle has utilized her years of experience with non-profit organizations to educate and spread awareness of the new LENS program to community providers and partners. Some of these partners include Good Samaritan hospital, Southwest Coalition, Grundy County Behavioral Alliance and a local member of Congress.
Danielle seeks to continually improve patient services through use of proven clinical measures and data to affirm the good work being done across all Gateway Programs.
In her free time, Danielle can be found enjoying the outdoors, traveling, reading, making art and spending time with loved ones.
