National Recovery Month
To our Alumni,
We hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits during National Recovery Month. We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate your achievements and share valuable resources to support your ongoing journey of sobriety.
Gateway Foundation has been dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorders for over 50 years. Our alumni community plays a vital role in maintaining the foundation’s mission and inspiring others along the way. We are grateful for each and every one of you and your continued commitment to living a fulfilling life in recovery.
Recovery Month, observed annually since 1989, aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders. It celebrates the millions of Americans in recovery and highlights the positive impact that treatment and support services can have. We invite you to join us in spreading the message of hope and recovery during this special month. Here are some ways you can get involved:
1. Share Your Story: Your personal journey is a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges. Consider sharing your story on our website or speak with an Alumni Coordinator. Your experience may provide someone the courage to seek help and start their own recovery journey.
2. Volunteer Opportunities: Our alumni community is a powerful force for change. If you are interested in volunteering your time and skills to support others in recovery, please reach out to one of our Alumni Coordinators, who will be happy to discuss potential opportunities with you.
3. Attend Events: Throughout September, there will be various events and to inspire connection and celebrate recovery. Keep an eye on our website and social media platforms for event announcements and join us in participating.
4. Join Virtual Support Groups: Connection is crucial for sustained recovery. We host virtual support groups for our alumni where you can meet others who have shared similar experiences. These groups provide a safe space for open dialogue, sharing resources, and fostering a sense of community.
We also want to remind you that our dedicated alumni team is here for you. If you ever need support or assistance, whether it be finding local resources, overcoming challenges, or simply connecting with fellow alumni, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help you thrive in your recovery journey.
Lastly, we extend our gratitude for your continued support. By sharing your success, offering guidance, and being a living example of recovery, you contribute to the growth and strength of our Gateway Foundation community. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those still struggling with substance use disorders. Wishing you a month filled with renewed hope, resilience, and determination. Remember, recovery is possible, and you are not alone!
